Brisbane General and Obesity Surgery has been established by Dr Jason Wong with the aim to provide the highest standard of bariatric care through an integrated multidisciplinary approach.
Through a clinical partnerships with allied health members, co-located under the same roof, patients are able to gain all of the same benefits of an in-house multidisciplinary team without the high overheads associated with employing an in-house team. This means a lower cost to you.

Surgery is billed directly to your healthfund and a Bariatric Care Plan starting from $3000 will apply
Assistant: Out-of-pocket $200 for primary cases, $500 for revision cases.
Anaesthetist from $1500 - $1750 (Rebate from healthfund available)
Hospital excess may apply depending on your healthfund
Surgery Private Fees: starting from $3990 (with Medicare Rebate starting from $663)
Anaesthetist from $1500 - $1750 (with Medicare Rebate available)
Assistant: Private fee of $500 for primary cases, $1000 for revision cases with Medicare Rebate available (variable depending on item numbers).
Hospital Fees: approximately between $13 - 15k depending on hospital, and equipment used.
Multidisciplinary Care Program:
There will be initial appointments with the Dietician and Psychologist.
You are also expected to have engage in a physical activity program and most will see a personal trainer or exercise physiologist.
6x dietitian appointments at 2, 4, 6 weeks, 3, 6. 12 months post-op - $540.
Subsequent Psychology sessions, and Dietician appointments additional to the bariatric care plan are paid as you go. Rebates may apply if you are eligible for care plans or with Health fund extras.
Depending on other medical problems you may have, consultation with other specialists may be required which could attract additional fees.
Inpatient medical imaging and blood tests may attract additional fees.
Kevin Glisenti, the founder of Moderation Clinic, has expertise in the treatment of binge-eating disorder and psychological barriers to losing or maintaining weight that has been lost. Common psychological obstacles in this regard include emotional eating (using food to regulate emotion), distorted body image, irregular eating patterns and unrealistic physical activity goals.
Taylor Vickery is an Accredited Practising Dieticians with a specialist interest in bariatric nutrition. She will work with you to guide you through the dietary changes and educate you on the nutritional requirements to maintain your health and achieve the best results long-term.
